BSR ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY ELECTED ITS NEW LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE
On this Tuesday 17th of March 2026, BSR held its Annual General Assembly at Hotel St.Famille in Kigali Rwanda. The general assembly was attended by most of it members and representations whereby Bishops and Church leaders participated in the general assembly.
Among other Items on the meeting Agenda including the electing the new Legal Representatives of BSR having the current ones ending their two terms in office.
The General Assembly has Elected Bishop Célestin Hakizimana as the new Legal Representative of BSR; He is the Catholic Bishop of Gikongoro Diocese. The Assembly also elected KABAYIZA Louis Pasteur the Bishop of EAR-SHYOGWE Diocese as the Vice Legal Representative of BSR.
His Eminence Antoine Cardinal KAMBANDA, LR and Bishop Samuel KAYINAMURA, the Vice LR appreciated the general assembly for electing the new legal representatives and requested a quick handover in a week time to give the new leadership time to start their service at BSR. They promised support to the new leadership where necessary in a continued contribution to BSR.
In his remarks to the General Assembly, the newly eclted Legal Representative; Bishop Célestin HAKIZIMANA, thanked the previous leadership for delivering to their duties as BSR representatives, recalled and commended their achievements but also promised a continued delivering from where they reached with work.
