THE LAUNCHING & CELEBRATING CHRISTIANS UNITY At St.Andre GITARAMA
The launching of the week of prayer for Christian unity 2026 was launched and celebrated on the 18th January 2026 as usual. It was launched in Muhanga District, in the Catholic Parish of St.André MUHANGA of the Kabgayi Diocese.
In the service, multiple guests attended the launching and celebration of the week of prayer for Christians’ unity, including Mgr. Dr.Ntivuguruzwa Baltazar, the Bishop of KabgayiDiocese who represented His Eminence Antoine Cardinal KAMBANDA, the Legal Representative of the Bible Society of Rwanda, The EpiscopalBishop of the AnglicanChurch of Rwanda, KigemeDiocese Rt.Rev.Assiel Musabyimana, the Bishop Louis Pasteur KABAYIZA Jean of the EAR Shyogwe Diocese, the SeniorPastor of ADEPRChurch, Rev.Isaie NDAYIZEYE, the Mayor of MUHANGA District, the BoardChair and other Board Members of the Bible Society of Rwanda.
The service was attended also by congregations of Christians from protestant and catholic churches in Muhanga District. including Choirs who worshiped and praised God.
The Bible Society of Rwanda, every year, organizes the week of prayer for Christian unity in Rwanda with the purpose of joining Christians in celebrating their Unity in Christ. The service was introduced by the Procession of Bishops and other Senior Church leaders. During the service, choirs from protestant churches and the catholic church praised God.
The week of prayer for Christians’ unity comes as an opportunity for churches across Rwanda to pray together and a time to consider the centre, who is “Jesus.” Christians gather to praise God in harmony, to pray, and to share the word of God. This year’s theme was in the Bible book of Ephesians, chapter 4, verse 4; “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called.“
