Bible Society Australia has launched its 2013 Get The Word Out in Rwanda project, paving the way for reconciliation in a nation divided by recent conflict, through the Bible. BSA's International Projects manager, Chris Melville, says the Rwanda projects supported this year highlight what Bible Society is all about. We're meeting people's physical and social needs - teaching them to read - by using the God's Word, which also addresses a deep spiritual need, particularly in Rwanda.

We want to provide the opportunity for Rwandans to learn how to read, not only to help them develop personally but also to help them grow as Christians or learn about Jesus and what he has done for us. Our Rwanda projects in 2013 are all about underlining everything we do there with the Gospel's message of reconciliation, which is so important for a nation that is hurting from bitter conflict and trying to move forward.
